Fitness Centers
The first step in the creation of a company-wide lifestyle benefit became a reality to June when Gulfstream began offering its employees subsidized memberships in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. More than 50 percent of Savannah's employees are enrolled in the YMCA. Gulfstream employees pay a mere $10 a month for an entire family membership.
Wellness Programs
Onsite Medical Services, educational literature and videos on health related subjects including women's health issues, and worksite lactation rooms for new mothers.
Intramurals
Gulfstream promotes and supports company intramural teams including: hockey, basketball, soccer, golf, and more!
Family Focus
Launch of Gulfstream Sponsored Day Care and Barely Sick Care --YMCA Gulfstream provided the YMCA the financial support to build a state of the art Childcare Center within 7 miles of the Savannah facility. Because of Gulfstream's monetary contribution, the dependents of Gulfstream employees have "priority placement." This means that employees' children will be chosen over non-Gulfstream employees when a placement spot comes open. In addition, Gulfstream employees will pay less for YMCA childcare than the public.
Parents facing the costs of college tuition, books, supplies, room and board know first hand that the financial burden of higher education is not getting any easier to bear. Fortunately for Gulfstream and General Dynamics Aviation Services employees, Gulfstream offers scholarships to employees' dependents to help defray the costs of college or training. The Gulfstream Scholarship Program provides ten annual scholarships - - five Goldie Glenn Scholarships worth up to $2,000 a year for four years and five Theodore Fortsmann Scholarships worth $5,000 a year for four years. Five similar scholarships for sons and daughters of Gulfstream employees with similar requirements are offered through the Fred and Susan Breidenbach Scholarship program.
