GULFSTREAM PROMOTES DAN WATTS TO DIRECTOR OF FINAL PHASE OPERATIONS AT LONG BEACH FACILITY

SAVANNAH, Ga., May 24, 2007 – Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has appointed Dan Watts director of final phase operations, at its Long Beach, Calif., business-jet completions and service facility. Watts will be responsible for all work performed during the final phase of manufacturing, including paint hangar operations and deliveries of new aircraft to customers.

With more than 20 years of aviation experience, Watts most recently served as the senior Lean Manufacturing manager at the Long Beach site. He led the implementation of various Lean Six Sigma initiatives. Watts joined Gulfstream in 1998 as an industrial engineering group head. He previously served as a manager of industrial engineering at McDonnell Douglas and then Boeing, following the merger of the two companies.

Watts served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he worked as an avionics technician on both fixed-wing and rotor aircraft. He earned an associate’s degree in engineering from Long Beach Community College and has completed Six Sigma Black Belt certification training. Watts is a four-year member of the Lean Enterprise Institute.
