GULFSTREAM NAMES CHARLES WOOD LEAN SIX SIGMA PROGRAM MANAGER
SAVANNAH, Ga., August 11, 2008 – Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has appointed Charles Wood program manager, Lean Six Sigma. As such, he is responsible for developing and implementing the Lean Six Sigma program throughout Gulfstream and General Dynamics Aviation Services facilities.
Wood has been with General Dynamics for 22 years, holding positions in quality assurance and process engineering. Prior to this appointment, Wood served as a value stream manager at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Conn. Before that, he was senior manager, initial phase quality control, at Gulfstream.
Wood is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. He earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Gordon College in Wenham, Mass., and a master’s degree in business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y.
Wood reports to Max Mills, director, Corporate Quality and Product Safety.
